About this Project

We were honored to be selected as the fire suppression system installers for a remarkable renovation project in Liverpool. This historic church, believed to be where George Harrison was baptized and where his parents were married, has undergone a sympathetic restoration and development process. The church, rich in history and character, has retained its original features, which have been carefully restored and preserved.
Project Scope
The primary objective of this project was to install a modern fire suppression system that would provide comprehensive protection to the historic structure while preserving its architectural integrity. The system needed to be discreetly integrated to avoid impacting the church’s original features and overall aesthetic.
Challenges
- Preservation of Historic Features: The church is filled with original architectural details that required careful consideration during the installation process to avoid any damage or alteration.
- Discreet Integration: The fire suppression system needed to be installed in a way that would not detract from the church’s historic charm and appearance.
- Comprehensive Protection: Despite the challenges of working within a historic structure, the fire suppression system had to provide full coverage, ensuring the safety of the building and its occupants.
Solution
To address these challenges, our team implemented the following approach:
Collaborative Planning: We worked closely with the restoration team, architects, and conservation specialists to understand the specific requirements and constraints of the project. This collaboration ensured that our installation plan was aligned with the overall restoration goals.
Customized Fire Suppression System: We designed a fire suppression system tailored to the unique needs of the historic church. The system was engineered to provide maximum protection while being minimally invasive. Special attention was given to the placement of pipes, nozzles, and other components to ensure they were discreetly integrated into the building’s structure.
Non-Invasive Installation Techniques: To preserve the church’s original features, we employed non-invasive installation techniques. Our team meticulously worked around delicate architectural elements, ensuring that the installation process did not harm or alter the historic fabric of the building.
Thorough Testing and Commissioning: After installation, we conducted comprehensive testing to ensure the system’s effectiveness and reliability. The system was fine-tuned to provide optimal protection, with adjustments made as needed to meet the specific demands of the historic environment.
Results
The project was successfully completed, and the historic church now benefits from a state-of-the-art fire suppression system that provides robust protection without compromising its architectural integrity. The system is discreetly integrated, maintaining the building’s aesthetic appeal and historic character.
The client was extremely pleased with the outcome, particularly the care taken to preserve the church’s original features while providing modern fire protection. This project stands as a testament to our commitment to delivering high-quality, customized solutions for even the most challenging and sensitive environments.
